TIPS TO CHOOSE THE SUITABLE PROJECTOR SCREEN SIZE BASED ON YOUR NEEDS

In addition to a high-definition projector, you also need a suitable projector screen size to boot. This is to guarantee an optimal viewing experience, whether it’s for a presentation, live show, movie screening, etc. In this blog post, VietnamEvent will help you choose the appropriate screen size based on your needs.

The screen size will greatly affect the clarity of the projected image. If it's too big, the image quality will lose significant resolution. Meanwhile, if it is too tiny, the screen will not optimize the projector's maximum quality.

Check your projector brightness

The first thing you should look at is your projector's compatibility with the screen since not all projectors and screens are compatible. Technically, the larger the screen, the brighter it must be. The projected picture will be dim and fuzzy if the projector does not have enough lumens (brightness). Your viewers will struggle to see what's on the screen, ruining their viewing experience. However, if the space includes ambient illumination, greater lumens will be required for optimum results. Keep in mind that projectors perform best in dark spaces.

Determine the number of audiences

The size of your projector screen should also be based on the number of the audience. Basically, a greater crowd necessitates a larger facility, which requires an equally larger screen. Aside from that, a large crowd means the screen has to be located distant from the first row. This is done to provide the viewer with a clear picture of the topic.

Take the viewing distances into account

Screen size and viewing distance are inextricably linked. The greater the size of your screen, the greater the seeing distance. Similarly, longer viewing distances necessitate larger projection screens. The screen should occupy at least 30 degrees of the person's field of vision for the greatest viewing experience. This may be increased to 40 degrees for a more cinematic sense. However, for indoor viewings, such as in a home theater, a smaller screen is normally required. The viewing distance will be substantially shorter in this instance.

Check the aspect ratio

A screen's aspect ratio refers to the connection between its width and height. The most frequent aspect ratios are 4:3 and 16:9. This indicates that for every 16 feet of the screen width, it would have 9 feet of height. The same is true for the 4:3 ratio. So, what if I utilized a screen with an incorrect aspect ratio? You can still project your material, there would be black bars on the edges.

Don't worry, since projector companies like VietnamEvents can assist you in determining the best aspect ratio for your screen. Our experts will review your material and adjust your screen to provide the greatest viewing experience possible.

Check the throw distance

The horizontal distance between the screen and the projector lens is referred to as the throw distance. It is measured in ratio, which determines how huge an image the projector can create at a given distance. So how does it relate to the projector screen? The throw ratio will decide the size of the screen you'll require based on the available area in your venue. Additionally, screen location is crucial for optimal image quality.

Check the ceiling height of the venue

Many event organizers neglect the size of their venue, particularly the ceiling height. Aside from taking into account all of the aforementioned criteria, don't forget to take real measurements of the installation area. If your chosen location does not have enough ceiling height, you can substitute numerous screens. This ensures that all of your attendees can see the stuff you're presenting.
