The two-day (August 27–28, 2018) Indian Ocean Conference 2018 was held by the event organizing firm VietnamEvent in Hanoi. This was the third conference by Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affair in association with Indian Capital, with the theme “Building Regional Architechure.”

The Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affair of Vietnam: Pham Binh Minh; Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister: Ranil Wickremesinghe; Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Health and Family Welfare Nepal: Upendrea Yadav; Indian Minister of Foreign Affair: Sushman Swaraj; and Singaporean Foreign Minister: Vivian Balakrishnan, all having a speech in the opening session of the conference. The delegates shared their opinions about the importance of building a well-covered area’s structure with respect of international laws and borders in order to improve trust and promote mutual benefits.

Apart from the discussion of building a regional structure, the cooperation content between involving countries about building trust, respecting international standard and law, peacefully handling ocean’s disputes, and security were heavily discussed.
In this conference, VietnamEvent has welcomed and served 300 delegates, including Prime Minister and Minister Groups, senior officers from more than 40 countries and territories; 60 delegates from 30 foreign representative offices in Vietnam, 100 officers, scholars, and 70 reporters from many news stations in Vietnam and other countries.
