The conference " Meet Europe" 2018 took place on the morning of May 25 at the Melia Hotel (44B Ly Thuong Kiet), a chance for the city to promote the market, investment and business opportunities and the orientation of developing investment in the coming time. “Meet Europe 2018” was the event that was hosted by the Hanoi People's Committee in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Delegation of the European Union and the European Business Association in Vietnam (EuroCham) to promote and diversify forms of investment and trade between Europe and Vietnam, including Hanoi.
“Meet Europe 2018” was expected to include the participation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, leaders of Hanoi’s Party Committee, representatives of leaders of provinces and cities of Vietnam, Representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, foreign affair offices, economic and trade representatives of Europe and the business community of Europe and Vietnam.

“Meet Europe 2018” was an occasion for leaders of local government, enterprises of Vietnam and EU partners in Vietnam (representative office of foreign affair, economic and trade representatives, business communities, etc.) to meet, exchange, connect and broaden economic, trade and investment cooperation. At the same time, creating advantage conditions for provinces and cities in the Capital Region to seek opportunities of cooperating with foreign partners and to attract investment in the fields that provinces and cities are aiming.
At the conference, the localities of Vietnam, including Hanoi, will provide information on the situation, prospects, opportunities and challenges of trade, investment and economic development between Vietnam and EU, especially in the context of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), which is likely to be signed in 2018. In addition, European enterprises will have speeches and discussions on: energy regeneration, smart city, agriculture and seafood business, infrastructure, logistics, industry 4.0, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, tourism and hotels, beverage industry and soft drinks.
Besides, at the event, Hanoi will introduce publicly the detailed category of feasible projects to all EU partners and organizations in order to attract investment on industry, real estate, trade in services and the infrastructure of the city. At the same time, provide information about investment policy according the new relevant regulations of Hanoi.
