Recently, K-EXPO Vietnam 2022 was successfully hosted in Hanoi, making a good impression on attendees. Here is a brief interview with Mr. Jackie Han - CEO of Vietnamevents - Event Director of K-EXPO Vietnam 2022.
For this such a big event, how do you feel when chosen to be the organizer for this event?
It is an honor for Vietnamevents to host K-EXPO Vietnam 2022. This significant event is to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Vietnam. Especially, K-EXPO Concert, as a part of K-EXPO Vietnam 2022, is considered the largest Vietnamese-Korean Music Festival after the Covid-19 pandemic. The program not only delivers an extremely vibrant atmosphere with a combination of Vietnamese and Korean cultures but also offers a platform for cultural, economic, culinary, technology, cosmetics, and fashion exchanges. Because of its great significance, Vietnamevents is very proud and also full of confidence when selected to carry out such a large-scale project. We would like to thank South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, KOCCA Vietnam, KBS (Korean Broadcasting System), and partners for trusting and choosing us.
Can you share more about the organization and scale of this event?
K-EXPO Vietnam 2022 took place on October 15–18, including a series of activities including the B2C K-Culture Exhibition, the K-EXPO Concert at the National Convention Center, and the B2B Meeting at the JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi. We had only one month to prepare for all stages, from ideation, design, setup, and installation to the operation of sound and light systems and LED screens. In particular, the biggest challenge that VietnamEvents encountered was the setup time. With only 4 days to implement all the categories, VietnamEvents had to concentrate all its human resources on this event, with a total staff of up to 250 people.

The category that we spent the most time on is the installation of the K-EXPO Concert stage with a capacity of up to thousands of spectators. We had to set up a system of truss frames, truss layers, LED screens, loudspeaker equipment, and lights as well as functional areas such as the artist's house, medical area, fire prevention, security fences, etc. However, thanks to the careful preparation right from the planning stage, along with the smooth coordination of all team members, the work items were completed on schedule and met all the requirements.
We had the program rehearsal many times in the two days before the event to make reasonable adjustments. The VietnamEvents team closely monitored and managed the setup process to ensure that the program went on as planned and had timely backup plans in case of problems.

What values did Vietnamevents contribute to this cultural, economic, and political exchange event between the two countries?
Each booth that Vietnamevents set up at K-EXPO Vietnam 2022 is imbued with the culture of the Land of Kimchi. As a result, the young Vietnamese generation has the opportunity to understand more about Korean culture and society. This is also an opportunity for Korean small and medium enterprises to expand cooperation and develop sales channels in Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries.
Furthermore, the K-EXPO Concert is a significant program in the cultural exchange between the two countries. Korean and Vietnamese artists and thousands of Vietnamese audiences were immersed in fantastic music.
The successful K-EXPO Vietnam 2022 helps promote cultural exchange and cooperation and makes the relationship between the two countries go from strength to strength.
